We are reaching our 50th Anniversary in 2026 and plans are underway to celebrate and commemorate the local valley flyers and flying.

It is our ambition to build the Canadian Hang Gliding Museum and Hall of Fame on park grounds to educate and inspire pilots in the history of gliders.  If you want to participate or donate to the museum, please contact us.

Several free flyers on kingposted gliders still chose to fly From Mara Launch to the Freedom Flight Park to entertain the landing crowd waiting to celebrate.

Task is Mara Launch to Enderby back to Mara Launch and goal is North end of swan lake. 74km

12 in at goal and thats another good  day!!

Special thanks to Doug Keller for doing the Scoring....After launching at Mara ...He almost got beer suck 1000 ft over the Freedom Flight Park on day 5 where he could see the cold Big Surf Beer cooler....but he resisted and climbed out to 8500' over Saddle Mountain at 6pm then went back to tag the Camels Hump turnpoint before gliding back to goal for some cold Big Surf Cider!! Then he finished the scoring before dark!! Awesome dude! Thanks to one of our most popular sponsors in this heat wave. Big Surf Beer !!
